Family Days Out in Altrincham

If you’re thinking of moving to a new area with your family then it makes sense that you’ll want to ensure there is something for everyone. Of course, the location of your house in terms of transport, employment and education are important (don’t worry Altrincham has you sorted on these too!), but keeping everyone happy and entertained is likely to be high on your agenda too!

Soft Play

The area has several indoor activities and soft play centres, which can be a lifesaver when it comes to keeping children entertained during bad weather. With something for babies right through to 8-year-olds, the indoor wood at Treehouse Play is a great choice – you can even enjoy a bit to eat while you’re there! If you fancy a trip out then head over to nearby Manchester to Inflata Nation, which is described as an inflating theme park for the whole family or you could head to the ball pit at Antz in your Pantz in Timperley which is also lots of fun.

Places to Eat

There are many chain restaurants nearby, which means that even the fussiest of family members are well catered for. If you’re looking for something a little different then the Bisque & Beyond Family Art Café in Didsbury is worth a visit, you’ll be able to choose something delicious to eat as well as take part in a fun art project with the rest of the family, so a great way to keep everyone entertained. If the family has a little more energy to burn off then the Coach House Brewers Fayre restaurant will allow everyone to get something to eat, while the children let off steam in their indoor play centre.

The Great Outdoors

With summer fast approaching and social distancing at the forefront of many people’s minds, you might be considering the entertainment options outdoors. Sale Water Park is a really fun lakeside day out. You can take a walk in the nearby parkland or simply set up camp and relax by the lake, the choice is yours.

Dunham Massey is also a great place to visit – you’ll find a massive park here, gardens, and even a beautiful lake you can picnic next to if you wish.

Seeing The Animals

If you want to spend some time with some four-legged friends then places such as the Carrington Riding Centre are great. You can book in one-off sessions or long-term lessons depending on your needs and let your children (or you!) learn how to horse ride with ease. They cater for all skill leaves so if you or any family members have never experienced riding before, you’ll be well looked after.

A Little Bit of Everything Else

Ice skaters at Silver Blades Ice Rink have plenty of options for anyone who wants to try ice skating. With different sessions available, no matter your skill level you’ll be able to enjoy a good few hours of fun here with the whole family.

For something a little different, the Runway Visitor Park is a recommended day out, especially for those with an interest in flight. You’ll be able to go onto one of the viewing mounds, giving you a clear 180-degree view of a nearby airfield – allowing you to watch up 600 daily aircraft coming and going each day. There’s a themed outdoor play park too!

We recommend that you check in with any establishments before you visit as we know times are constantly changing with Coronavirus and recent restrictions that are being lifted all the time.

However, as you can see the area gives you plenty to see and do, no matter what you’re in to!
